Miller Funeral Home has proudly served Tallapoosa area families for over 100 years, becoming a cherished part of the community's rich history.

Our story began with R.J. Miller, who opened the funeral home in August 1917 after starting as a horse-drawn hearse driver. Originally located in the back of a dry goods store, the business grew under R.J.'s leadership, becoming Haralson County's leading funeral service. R.J. was the first in the area to use an automobile hearse, extending his services across several counties.

When R.J. passed, his son Hubert, at just 16, took over, known for his humor and compassion. In 1940, Hubert and his mother moved the funeral home to its current location. Hubert and his wife Carolyn continued the legacy, which was then passed to their son Keith and his wife Tammy.

Now, the fourth generation, Mindy Miller Moats, continues the tradition. A licensed funeral director and embalmer, Mindy holds multiple degrees and is actively involved in community organizations. She and her husband TJ Moats welcomed their daughter, Evelyn Sue, in June 2023, ensuring the Miller legacy continues for years to come.

ATL Tails Advanced Pet Care was established by Elena Smith, Certified Veterinary Assistant (CVA), in response to the growing demand from pet owners for in-home veterinary care. Elena has over ten years of experience working in veterinary hospitals and has provided top-tier in-home pet care since 2018. Her previous positions include Boarding Facility Manager, Veterinary Clinic Supervisor, and a nurse specializing in oncology, emergency medicine, and diagnostic imaging. To remain current in veterinary medicine and procedures, Elena currently works part-time at a premier veterinary specialty clinic.

The highlight for Elena is providing pet care to animals in the comfort of their homes. This eliminates travel-trauma or boarding in an unfamiliar environment while allowing the fur babies to remain at home surrounded by safe and familiar sights and sounds while eliminating exposure to animals or parasites that may cause allergies. She provides safe, loving, and personal attention, playtime, and necessary medical services while following the pet’s regular diet and exercise regimen.

Darrian Smith is Lead Trainer and Owner at Paws and Parks

Darrian Smith, a proud Atlanta native, discovered his passion for animals after concluding his football career. Today, he is the lead trainer and owner at Paws and Parks. Darrian is accompanied by his three dogs INDY, KYANI AND SHEEP.

Spending countless hours in local dog parks, Darrian became a familiar face in the community. He noticed that many dog owners struggled to spend quality time with their pets due to their busy schedules. This observation sparked an idea: "What if I could help?" Driven by this thought, Darrian began Paws and Parks by picking up local dogs and bringing them to his home for hours of playtime. His journey didn't stop there; he soon mastered the art of grooming, and thus, Paws and Parks was born.
